Can you believe it's been 10 whole years since No Man's Sky first released?!
We all know what happened when the sci-fi epic first launched back on August 9th of 2016 - it received a ton of negative reviews and fell victim to its own hype - but incredibly, the game has continued to add (free) new content over the past decade and has become a beloved title that countless players are still enjoying to this day.
To celebrate the occasion, Hello Games founder Sean Murray has shared a lengthy statement with Xbox fans over on the official Xbox Wire website, a few excerpts of which we'll share with you below:
"From the start, it has been a wild ride, and it is difficult to think back to the humble beginnings when it was just the four of us in a tiny studio trying to make something almost stupidly ambitious. As a team, we’re hardly any bigger now, but the scale of the game completely dwarfs those first tentative moments.
After 10 years and almost 40 major free updates, the No Man’s Sky sandbox has grown exponentially. We’ve introduced pets, mechs, living ships, expeditions, settlements, exocraft, base building and multiple world overhauls.
As long as the team are having fun conjuring up ever-crazier additions they want to add to the game, and as long as there is a passionate and positive community enjoying what they make, I’d love for this journey to continue."

You can see from the image above just how ridiculous the level of updates have been, and as Murray mentions in his statement, there's still a desire to continue the "journey" if the playerbase remains consistent and engaged.
And don't forget, if you've never played No Man's Sky before and you feel like giving it a go, it's included with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium and PC Game Pass at no extra charge, and also supports Xbox Play Anywhere these days.
We'll leave you with a poll down below so you can give us your thoughts on No Man's Sky.
