Original Story: We've got a new update for No Man's Sky! This one's called the Voyagers update, and it's described as perhaps the biggest update of 2025 - available to everyone who owns the game or can access it via Xbox Game Pass.
The idea behind Voyagers is to let you build a fully-custom starship, allowing you to "select and arrange every section of hull, every wing and peripheral, every internal corridor and bunk bed". It looks like you can get really inventive with how you design these things, and you can also traverse them and even float weightlessly around them in outer space.
"What if we could build our own ships? With real interiors, med-bays, sleeping quarters, war rooms? What if we could get out of the cockpit seat mid-flight, wander around, look out the window as the universe flies by? What if we could share our ship with friends, to build a crew and adventure together? That’s a fantasy we’ve had for the longest time. I’m sure players never thought it would happen, but it’s something we’ve been working towards for years."
Hello Games founder Sean Murray shared with Xbox Wire earlier today about how the team has gone one step further with this, "allowing networked crewmates to walk about inside too", as well as offering the ability "to edit and decorate those ships around them, whilst pulsing through space or flying over a planet". Crazy stuff!
Again, he's keen to stress that Voyagers is one of the biggest updates not only of 2025 but in the history of No Man's Sky, while also teasing that it "opens up a whole new path that we will want to build on and expand in future".
