I've played a lot of these on Evercade already. World Rally 1 and 2 can be really addictive, Squash is good fun (but weirdly you can't aim the ball in it), Touch and Go is a brilliant one-button volleyball game, Thunder Hoop Strikes Back is a pretty cool side-scroller, and Soccer Kid is an enjoyable (but hard) platformer.
Some decent stuff here!
@FraserG I'm stoked for the World Rally games and Motor Mash. Anything to capture the essence of those old-school racing games from my yoooouth
Man I'm glad "retro" games are still in my mind retro. I'll know I'm getting old when these retro collections start including N64 games ๐
@Eastergregg Glover was an N64 game... (runs away) ๐
Seeing Craig post on PureXbox again, even only in writing is the BEST
I agree with @FraserG. Played some of thes Gaelco games on Evercade and they are quite good, even if somewhat difficult due to their arcade design choices.
Especially Biomechanical Toy is a great hidden gem. It's like Metal Slug with trippy visuals.
@TrollOfWar I haven't played that one yet, but I'm going to have to! Only own Galeco 2 at the moment, Galeco 1 is on my wishlist
@orangejuiceagain you've only gone and made my day. Happy to be back!
@FraserG I got it the other way around, have the Gaelco Arcade Collection 1. Alligator Hunt is the highlight on that cart, but the other games are pretty good. I even found Glass to be quite entertaining.
I wonder if collection 2 is worth getting. TH Strikes Back looks interesting and World Rally 2 is probably just as fun as the first game.
@TrollOfWar I really want to play Alligator Hunt. The snowboarding game (that's basically a clone of World Rally) as well.
As a sports fan, I think collection 2 is great. Probably not worth it otherwise.
@FraserG Evercade? A man of culture.
@JetmanUK Absolutely!
Never heard of Invasion from Beyond, but it looks like it could be fun!
I haven't heard of a lot of these, but I'm glad for that. I only learned of titles like Sly Spy yesterday, and then coming across these... even ignoring modern releases within the last ten years, it feels like there really is a limitless amount of retro games to find and play over time!
Also, the PS1 version of Glover is unexpected but I will take it!
@FraserG how dare you! ๐
