Forza Horizon 6 Dev Reveals New Details On Events, Progression & Post-Launch Plans

Ahead of launch in just a few weeks' time, Playground Games has given us some new details on what we can expect from Forza Horizon 6, via an official Discord Q&A.

Thanks to IGN, the major points from this Q&A have now been shared - including details one some of the game's new events, when certain features will be unlocked, and how the team is handling post-launch content this time around.

First off, Touge Battles — 1v1 events that lean into Japanese car culture — will be playable from five mountainous locations around the map, and they'll be freely playable in single-player; separate to the main festival progression. There'll also be a rotating playlist for this in multiplayer where you can take on a real-life opponent if you wish.

Speaking of multiplayer, the 'Forzathon Live' events from previous games have been renamed to 'Stunt Party' events and will seemingly function in a similar fashion, while the Eliminator mode's starter car has been confirmed as the 1984 Honda City (Forza's take on battle royale).

Finally, the Playground Games rep. also talked a little bit about some of the content that will be unlocked further into the game. Horizon Japan's 'Legend Island' — which requires the top Horizon Festival rank to access — will feature its own outpost, events and the game's Goliath race. And, the Festival Playlist (Forza's live service progression system) will return - and it's been confirmed that if you miss certain rewards from this in FH6, they'll be made available elsewhere after the fact, which is music to our ears.

Anyway, we just thought this new information was worth sharing ahead of launch on May 19th - and once again, thanks to IGN for gathering this info from the team's Discord Q&A and sharing it!
