'Energized' Xbox Engineer Talks New Dashboard Update & Its 'Unusually' Fast Turnaround

This week, Xbox Insiders received some new dashboard features thanks to what feels like the first meaningful console update in ages - and now newly-"energized" Xbox engineer Eden Marie has given us a bit more context on its "unusual" development time over at Microsoft HQ.

Following the update's mid-week announcement, Xbox boss Asha Sharma told us it took just two weeks to build these new features - a claim that Eden Marie has now backed up. The Xbox engineer then went on to say that "we got an unusual amount of stuff done for this two-week project", adding "it's true that a lot of features take longer than that".

Here's Marie's posts on that - alongside her talking about how she now feels "energized" working on Xbox updates:

As hinted at above, not every Xbox update is going to have such a short turnaround, but this one has been great to see, and long may the renewed focus on Series X|S continue. We're sure there's lots more that the team could implement between now and Project Helix, and maybe even beyond that!

Of course, for now we just need to test these new features out and see how we get on with them. The new dashboard update will roll out to all Xbox users in the near future, following its early introduction to Xbox Insiders this week.
