With the announcement of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 last week and its upcoming release this August, Konami has decided to pull the digital listings for multiple old MGS games, including one that's backwards compatible on Xbox.
That backwards compatible Xbox 360 classic is Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker HD, which is longer available to buy on the Xbox Store. Of course, a new version of Peace Walker is included in this upcoming collection, alongside fresh releases for Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Metal Gear: Ghost Babel; both making their debuts on Xbox.
If you already own Peace Walker HD either standalone or via the also-delisted Metal Gear Solid HD Collection you can of course still play it - but the former PSP-exclusive is no longer available to buy digitally on Xbox until this new collection comes in August. The MGS HD Collection can still be picked up physically and played on Xbox One / Xbox Series X, mind you.
If you're a PlayStation owner this move actually extends to two classic MGS games, as the PS3-exclusive MGS4 has also been delisted prior to its inclusion in Master Collection Vol. 2 later this year. At the end of the day we understand why Konami has decided to pull these - we just don't get why this needed to happen straight after last week's remaster announcement with no prior warning.
