Last week, Ubisoft quietly announced that Far Cry 3 Classic Edition, Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon Classic Edition and Far Cry Primal would all be receiving native 60FPS upgrades on January 21st, and those upgrades are now live!

As we've mentioned before, Far Cry 3 technically already ran at 60FPS on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S via its original Xbox 360 version, but the Classic Edition was always locked to 30 frames.

That's no longer the case, as shown off in the two videos below. The Xbox Series X version of Far Cry 3 Classic Edition is shown as running at 1440p and a very stable 60FPS following this upgrade, while the Xbox Series S version appears to be running at 1080p and an equally stable 60FPS.

We assume everything's running smoothly with Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon Classic Edition on Xbox Series X and Series S as well, with the upgrade for that game marking the first time it's ever been playable at 60FPS on Xbox consoles.

Meanwhile, Far Cry Primal already ran at 60FPS on Series X and S through the Xbox FPS Boost program, so that one feels a little redundant. It's still nice to get a native upgrade for it though, especially for those playing on PS5.

The upgrades for all three games should now be accessible by downloading Far Cry 3 Classic Edition, Blood Dragon Classic Edition and Primal on your Series X and S console, and the best part is that there's no extra charge for them!
