After missing its original 2025 release window, Peter Molyneux's 22cans studio has announced the official release date for Masters of Albion; on PC at least. The Fable creator's upcoming god game arrives for the platform on April 22nd, 2026 (at 6pm UK time, to be precise), with a console release hopefully to follow soon after.

You can take a look at the game's official release date trailer up above, which gives us a fresh look at what the legendary Fable creator is making next. Masters of Albion seems to have come a long way since we first laid eyes on it two years ago — here's hoping Molyneux can deliver on what his fans are looking for this time around.

"Masters of Albion is a bold reimagining of the God Game genre, from the creator who defined it. Revel in the freedom of true Godhood. In MoA, there is no single solution, only your solution. Build whatever, wherever. Hire whoever, whenever. Kill or carry, crush or coax. You are the ultimate power."

We last covered Masters of Albion here at Pure Xbox back in October, when Molyneux talked a little bit about how this particular title is a shot at "redemption" following some of his missteps in recent years. We only have a few months to go until we find out whether the well-known game maker has delivered on this mission.

As we mentioned up at the top, there's no word on an Xbox/console release date for Masters of Albion just yet, but as far as we know, the team is planning for more platforms at some stage. We'll be keeping an eye on things in terms of a console release once the PC launch has come and gone in a few months' time.
