The Call of Duty team has detailed its latest free trial ahead of the series' yearly Halloween update, and for the first time in franchise history, the entire Black Ops 6 campaign will be free-to-play for a week on Xbox.
Yep, starting October 9th and running through October 16th, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is hosting its latest free trial. However, unlike previous trials which have periodically been available for past COD games, this one includes multiplayer, Zombies and Campaign - and it's the full single-player mode on offer as well.
"Play Black Ops 6 for free for an entire week, starting October 9 at 9AM PT and ending October 16 at 10AM PT. Get full access to the Campaign for the first time in Black Ops 6 plus all of Multiplayer and Zombies (excluding Ranked Play), including 40+ Multiplayer Maps, all six Zombies Maps including Directed Mode, and new content from The Haunting like the Gravity, Rig, and Mothball Multiplayer maps, Haunted Havoc Zombies limited-time mode, and more."
As you can see in the above quote, it's a more generous trial in terms of Black Ops 6's multiplayer and Zombies content as well. This time around you're getting the full suite of maps and modes in MP and Zombies (bar Ranked Play), whereas these trials are typically limited to a few maps and game types across the two modes.
What's more; the Black Ops 6 campaign is actually good - it's very good, in fact. Raven Software's globetrotting spy thriller was a big reason behind our 9/10 review score last year, so even if you have no interest in COD multiplayer these days, we highly recommend playing through this campaign during the free trial period.
Of course, the full game is also in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, but with Microsoft's big shake-up to the service last week, many of you may have decided to drop a tier - or ditch the service altogether. Well, for the next week you can play the Black Ops 6 campaign without any purchase or subscription at all!
