Double Fine's Keeper Is Available Today With Xbox Game Pass (October 17)

Really looking forward to this one. Has an interesting concept and a art style I love.

So the trailer looks like a fever dream. I am confused as to what the game play actually is, puzzle platformer?

@RiverGenie I expect you are right about it being a puzzle platformer at its core, but I had fun for a minute imagining it as an immersive Sim in the vein of Deus Ex, or stealth combat like, "metal gear, but you're a lighthouse"

@themightyant Yep, and PC Game Pass of course. We're still figuring out the best way to cover XGP updates now after all the changes - it's probably best we start detailing the tiers as well then, right?

@themightyant Yes, the console tier still exists, but only a few people have it. You unsubscribe from GP Console once and you won't be able to subscribe ever again.

I’ve got to admit I haven’t been majorly interested in Keeper but the fact that Double Fine have come out and said they have purposely kept quiet so as not to spoil any surprises does have me intrigued. I was kind of worried it hadn’t received much marketing or buzz due to a lack of confidence but it seems like they want players to go in as blind as possible and experience it for themselves which I respect the hell out of. It’s getting downloaded!

@themightyant It's on Xbox.com FAQ. Game Pass for Console is still available to current subscribers and they get all games on day one, Call of Duty included. The price has not been increased. It's a great deal, but it's the only tier without online console multiplayer and lacks recent additions to current tiers at no extra cost, like Cloud and PC games.

@themightyant I don't have Game Pass for Console, but it only costs $11 per month AND it includes all day-one games. Microsoft even confirmed to Polygon this month, that in spite of the $30 Game Pass price hike, Game Pass for Console subscribers will still get day-one games as usual with no adjustments to pricing.

You basically get to play stuff like CoD and NG4 for a fraction of the cost that you would by paying for Ultimate.

@Questionable_Duck I think that this is what will happen to PC Game Pass, that it will disappear because of the three main tiers including PC games now, but Microsoft will respect the current subscriptions, which is nice. Better get that one before it's too late, PC (and Rog Xbox Ally) players.

@themightyant No problem! To my knowledge, though, you can still technically subscribe to both Xbox Game Pass for Console and Xbox Game Pass Essential at the same time if you want. That way, you could get online and cloud features while still paying for GP Console.
