Xbox Vet Rod Fergusson Has Been Drafted In To Help Launch BioShock 4

Earlier this month, we heard from Bloomberg that BioShock 4 had hit development troubles over at 2K - and now the master of saving games from the brink has been drafted in to help ship the upcoming sequel.

Rod Fergusson — an Xbox veteran who helped launch Gears of War, Bioshock Infinite and Diablo 4, amongst others — is now leading 2K's new BioShock dev Cloud Chamber. In fact, Rod is now Head of the BioShock Franchise as he and the team plot the series' future.

As you can see in the above post, Rod says that he and the studio are "committed to building a BioShock game we’ll be proud of" and one that "our players will love". These are welcome words for a publisher that recently admitted that BioShock 4 was in a "good" place but not quite a "great" one just yet.

They're also welcome words from a game producer that just seems to get sh*t done. Prior to Rod's arrival at Irrational Games and Blizzard, BioShock Infinite and Diablo 4 were stuck in their own forms of development hell - before being pulled from the brink and successfully launched on their respective platforms.
