Rockstar Working 'Close' With Remedy As Max Payne 1+2 Development Advances

Finnish studio Remedy has given us another financial update this week, as it continues to work on multiple projects following the Xbox Game Pass release of FBC: Firebreak. One of those projects is Max Payne 1+2 Remake, which GTA developer Rockstar is working 'closely' with Remedy on as development moves forward.

We're not entirely sure how far away this collaborative remake is from launching, but the good news is that the game is now in full production, with "steady momentum" being built towards "its next major phase".

Here's that full Remedy update on May Payne 1+2 Remake:

"The Max Payne 1 & 2 remake project continues its progress and remains in full production. In the second quarter, the team built on steady momentum from earlier in the year. Collaboration with Rockstar Games remains close and productive, ensuring alignment as the project advances toward its next major phase."

Outside of work on Max Payne, Remedy is also going well with its development of Control 2, which is "on track towards meeting its next milestones". The studio "is now on the gameplay, environments, and missions" elements of Control 2's design, with Remedy hoping to "develop the game into a strong commercial offering" in the coming months and years.

In term's of the studio's overall financial health, it sounds like it's been a pretty good quarter for the team. Revenue increased by 63.5% over the same time last year, with subscription service agreements from Sony and Microsoft (relating to FBC: Firebreak) contributing to a healthy quarter for the Finnish developer.
