To us it still feels a little weird to say that a new Gears of War release is coming to PS5 in a week's time - but clearly, series creator Cliff Bleszinski doesn't feel the same way.
Speaking to Eurogamer ahead of the launch of Gears Reloaded, Cliffy B says that he's "thrilled" to see some of his most iconic work being opened up to a whole new audience on PS5 later this month.
"It doesn't feel strange [...] I'm thrilled that more people are going to get to experience a big part of my legacy that I worked so hard on."
Moving on from Reloaded-on-PS5 chat, Cliff then added that he's "open to consult" on future Gears games, as he claims to be "asked nearly every day on social media" about returning to the franchise. "I've said it a thousand times", claims Cliff, in relation to being up for helping Microsoft out with the series.
Despite not being involved with the next mainline entry — Gears of War: E-Day — you'd perhaps be forgiven for thinking he might have been. E-Day returns to the roots of Gears in a big way - with it being set before the first Gears of War game and comprising of a look and feel that's much more closely aligned with the original Epic Games trilogy that Cliff worked on.
