Much has been said about Microsoft's pivot to put Xbox games on PS5 in recent months, but the numbers don't lie, and the team continues to shift copies on the Sony platform. This week, Circana has put out fresh data that gathers up the top 10 best-selling games on PlayStation (physical and digital) for Q2 2025 - and the majority of the list is Xbox titles.
Sitting second on the chart is Forza Horizon 5, followed up by Bethesda's Oblivion Remastered. Then, four more Xbox games are included in the top 10: Black Ops 6, DOOM: The Dark Ages, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and Minecraft. This looks like a fantastic return for Microsoft, with its gaming acquisitions clearly paying off here.
To be clear, this is just for the US market, as is always the case with Circana data. What's also interesting is that just one PlayStation exclusive is in this list in the form of Death Stranding 2 - the rest of them can be played on Xbox too, including Game Pass for those Microsoft titles of course. Regardless of the the existence of XGP on other consoles, PlayStation players are continuing to lap up Microsoft's games on their chosen platform.
Anyway, what this likely means is that we're going to see lots more Xbox games move over to PS5, as most of us already assume at this point. In fact, just this week, two more Microsoft first-party titles were reported to be in development for PS5 - so we'll have to wait and see if Xbox announces more platforms for those games in the coming weeks.
