The big game to kick off the Summer Game Fest 2025 showcase today was Mortal Shell 2, which debuted a pretty epic trailer that suggests we're in for something special when the game launches in 2026.

There's no exact release date yet, but we know Mortal Shell 2 will release for Xbox Series X and Series S. If you're interested, beta sign-ups will apparently be taking place soon on the official Mortal Shell website.

Here's a bit more information about the game, and you can watch the first trailer up above.

"Mortal Shell II is a standalone sequel action-RPG with adrenaline-charged, high-stakes combat. Possess warrior Shells, dethrone false gods, redeem a ravaged world."
