Hellblade 2 Will Remain At 30FPS On Xbox Series S, Reveals Microsoft

Earlier today, we heard how Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 will be getting a 60FPS Performance Mode on Xbox Series X as part of an "Enhanced" edition launch in August, but unfortunately that won't apply to Xbox Series S as well.

The original announcement post has quietly added in a mention that 60FPS is "not available on Xbox Series S", meaning you'll need to play on Xbox Series X, a powerful enough PC, or PS5 in order to take advantage of the option.

"Now, with Performance Mode, we’re excited to give you the option to experience gameplay at 60 FPS (not available on Xbox Series S)."

Of course, Xbox Series S owners still get all the other benefits of Hellblade 2 Enhanced which include a new Challenge game mode, developer commentary and an enhanced photo mode - and it's all free if you own the game already or play it on Xbox Game Pass.

But yeah... clearly 60FPS was a step too far for the Xbox Series S version of Hellblade 2, and we can't say that comes as any real surprise. To be honest, we were perfectly happy playing the game at 30 frames per-second anyway!
