Xbox L4G Users Frustrated Over Constant Spam From Bot Accounts

It's been a long time now since the Xbox "Looking For Group" (otherwise known as L4G) feature was first introduced, and unfortunately it's suffered from constant spam and bot issues over the past few years.

For those who aren't aware of it, L4G allows you to find other players to team up with in multiplayer games, and the more popular the game, the more posts it's likely to have - which also resorts in more spam.

In the example above, you can see GTA Online being spammed with an advertisement about how to get in-game cash, and there are all sorts of examples like this from accounts that have 0 Xbox gamerscore and no previous history.

Here's just an example of the frustration we've come across over the past year:

Now, to be fair to Microsoft, we've been monitoring these L4G posts on GTA Online today and have noticed a lot of them getting removed quickly, but the problem is that they keep being generated too fast for the removal system to keep up.

It would make sense to us if the Xbox L4G feature was adjusted to limit new accounts in the future, meaning you need at least a certain amount of gamerscore and account history in order to submit a post on there.

As it is, we just can't find any real value in using L4G for major AAA titles. It's decent for the smaller games that don't have big fanbases, but for anything like Minecraft, GTA and Rainbow Six Siege, you're having to wade through an awful lot of mess that takes away from your ability to actually play and enjoy the game.

But how about you? What do you think about L4G as things stand? Tell us in the comments section below.
