Back in Spring 2020, when the world was changing to due the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, Call of Duty: Warzone launched to incredible levels of popularity on Xbox. In the years since, Activision has continued to spruce things up with plenty of new additions to the battle royale, but this year it's hitting the nostalgia button - the game's original 'Verdansk' map is coming back.

Arriving alongside Season 3 in April, Activision is hoping that the return of Verdansk can be a real shot in the arm for its now five year-old Call of Duty battle royale title. You can check out the map's new trailer up above - and prepare to leap back into the map that started it all on April 3rd.

"As we celebrate Call of Duty: Warzone’s 5 Year Anniversary, it's time to revisit a place of unforgettable memories,

Verdansk returns to Call of Duty: Warzone on April 3."

Alongside the return of Verdansk in Warzone, Season 3 will also make waves in Black Ops 6's multiplayer and Zombies modes next month. The team is being more tight-lipped on that for now, which is perhaps understandable given that the game's TMNT-flavoured Season 2 Reloaded update only just launched towards the end of last month.

Anyway, as normal, Verdansk will be completely free to download and try in the game's free-to-play battle royale experience, while Black Ops 6 Season 3 will be available at no extra cost to all Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers in early April.
