Halo Infinite's New Map Pays Homage To Halo: Combat Evolved On OG Xbox

A major update landed for Halo Infinite this week, and the game's newest multiplayer map was already said to "evoke the feeling" of Halo: Combat Evolved in its design and overall look. While the jury may be out on that, players have discovered that new map 'Illusion' features an even more direct homage to the original Halo.

Tucked away into one of the map's rooms — which apparently opens up during matches of Infection — 343 has created a very cool gaming setup - featuring an original Xbox, an Xbox 360, a couple of controllers, and Halo playing on the big screen. Here's how it looks when opened up during an Infection match:

That's not all for the Halo throwbacks coming to Infinite at the moment either. A new Halo Wars-themed Operation & Battle Pass have just gone live too - featuring 20 tiers of free rewards for Halo Infinite.

Fresh content, featuring plenty of cool little surprises, is still coming to the 343's latest Halo game then - despite the team's recent move away from 'Seasons'. Instead we're getting 'content updates' from this point forward, and you can read all about this recent change down below.
