Baldur's Gate 3 Xbox Release: Everything We Know So Far

Ready for Baldur's Gate 3 on Xbox? We are too. The game has proven one of the biggest hits of 2023 on PC and PlayStation 5 so far, and it'll soon be coming to Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S as well.

The question is, when will Baldur's Gate 3 actually release on Xbox? Here's what we know so far:

Baldur's Gate 3 Xbox Release Date

Baldur's Gate 3 is scheduled to release on Xbox at some point after December 6th, 2023.

This was confirmed by Larian Studios in a recent message on Twitter:

""Xbox players, we hear you’re looking for more news on Baldur’s Gate 3. The game is on track for a December release."

Baldur's Gate 3's Xbox release date will be announced at The Game Awards 2023 on December 7th.

Is Baldur's Gate 3 Coming To Xbox Game Pass?

It has yet to be confirmed whether Baldur's Gate 3 will be coming to Xbox Game Pass or not.

Baldur's Gate 3 Series X & Series S Differences

As you've probably heard by now, developer Larian Studios has suffered a lot of difficulties in getting Baldur's Gate 3 to run properly on Xbox Series S. As a result, the local co-op feature isn't going to be implemented at launch in the Series S version, although Larian hopes to add it back in eventually.

The upside is that BG3 can now launch on Xbox in 2023... before that, it was targeting 2024!

Baldur's Gate 3 Xbox One Version?

There are no signs of an Xbox One version of Baldur's Gate 3. Considering that the Xbox Series S version has run into development issues, it seems a safe bet to suggest it'll never arrive on Xbox One natively.
