There's been a little bit of confusion surrounding the launch of Ubisoft's popular free-to-play shooter XDefiant and whether it'll be available on Xbox One (and PS4) when it arrives, and now we finally have an answer.

As expected, XDefiant won't be coming to Xbox One or PS4 at launch this summer - instead, it'll be available for Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PS5 and PC. The last-gen versions are still being worked on for a later date, however.

"Launch will be on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. We're working on last-gen platforms for later."

XDefiant most recently made an appearance on Xbox as part of a free open beta which seemed to go down well, and we wouldn't be surprised if another beta arrived soon as Ubisoft continues to tweak things ahead of release.

There's still no official date for the full version aside from "later this summer", but we'll obviously let you know when more information is revealed. It should end up proving one of the most popular free-to-play Xbox games of 2023!

Excited for XDefiant? Sad about the lack of Xbox One support at launch? Tell us in the comments.
