It's been a bit of a wild week for Microsoft so far, with the company announcing it would be cutting 10,000 jobs. This has also surprisingly hit the Xbox division within the tech giant - including Halo Infinite developer 343 Industries.

Apart from layoffs, it was announced that Halo Infinite's Head of Creative Joseph Staten would be rejoining Xbox Publishing. If you're wondering how Joe is doing, he seems to be going above and beyond right now to assist former employees who have lost their jobs. Here's exactly what he had to say via Twitter in his latest update:

"Hey folks, right now I’m 100% focused on helping people who lost their jobs find great new ones. The outpouring of support from other studios has been amazing. Please, keep it coming. If you’d like a reference for someone you’re considering, my DMs are open."

As you can see, he's even gone to the extent of opening his 'direct messages' on Twitter to help out. One other update from Neill Harrison - the now former director of art management at 343 Industries - went into more detail about just how "hard" the team has been hit.

In a message (shared via the r/halo subreddit) Harrison claims the art team at 343 has lost "around 30 people alone". Various others from 343 have also shared updates over the past few days.

In addition to the Halo team, the Microsoft-owned Bethesda studios (Starfield) has also confirmed job cuts. Microsoft hasn't revealed the total number of people that have been removed from its gaming division.

If we hear any other major updates or developments, we'll be sure to let you know.
