Ahead of the release of Resident Evil Village Gold Edition on October 28th, a free demo is now available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, providing you with a free trial of the game for 60 minutes.
This means you can check out the new third-person mode for the main campaign if you want to, while other new features in the Gold Edition will include the Shadows of Rose story expansion and The Mercenaries Additional Orders.
If you already own Resident Evil Village and you're interested in getting access to the Gold Edition, it'll be available separately as the "Winters' Expansion" next week, which you can pre-order right now for £15.99 / $19.99 on the Xbox Store.

I don't understand why Capcom add time limits to the demos. Either way I'm currently downloading it too see what the game is like in third person.
I probably check it out this weekend. I’m glad to finally get to play in third person. Also looking forward to playing Rose’s DLC. I’m curious how she ended up at the castle? Spoiler for anybody who hasn’t beaten village but I thought it blew up in the end. Maybe it was too far from the explosion? Maybe Rose isn’t really at the castle but it’s a dream of some sort?
I guess we don’t know how long Roses DLC campaign length is?
When does the 3rd person dlc come out?
Like others, I think that Resident Evil 7 and 8 are great but I don't like them as much as the old titles. I didn't like how 7 became gorier and the first-person view was a step backwards instead of forwards. I'm happy that at least 8 is getting a third-person mode. I hope that 9 is more like the old titles but I want the Code Veronica remake first.

Played the third person demo and wasn’t blown away. Lots to like but I’d rather replay 4 or 2make or the original RE instead.
