Random: The Barclays Center Is Using An Official Xbox Basketball Court This Week

No, that's not a picture from NBA 2K22!

That's an actual photo of the Barclays Center in New York this week, with the official Xbox basketball court set to feature tonight and tomorrow night (August 3rd) for the New York Liberty's two WNBA games against the LA Sparks.

The basketball court, which is the WNBA's first gaming-inspired court, is also closely linked with Roblox, where you can download the the Infinite Canvas’ Dunking Simulator and experience the metaverse version of the court in-game.

Xbox is also advertising that you can unlock special virtual items in Roblox right now such as a New York Liberty jersey, and has mentioned that every submission on the Power Her Dreams website from now until September 30th will be met with a $10 donation from Microsoft to the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation or Girls Who Code.

Here's a bit more about that Roblox experience:

Players will be teleported to the special Liberty court within the experience to dunk in style and enjoy special, metaverse-only features like pyrotechnics, fireworks, fan chants, and more, all guided by New York native and 11-year-old sports journalist, Pepper Persley.
