You've probably heard of Valorant at this point, a free-to-play tactical FPS on PC that's developed and published by Riot Games, and first launched back in 2020. It could be coming to Xbox soon as well, at least according to a job listing.
Riot Games has begun hiring for a "Senior Game Designer, Console", revealing that the successful candidate will "design and refine features, modes, and systems to help bring console game products to market." The name of Valorant is referenced in the title of the job, so it seems that's the primary focus of the role.
Back in 2020, Riot Games revealed it was prototyping Valorant for consoles but the team didn't want to promise anything as "there's a way to experience this game that we're not entirely sure translates completely to console play."
However, it looks like the developer has got over that potential roadblock according to this job listing, and it's been reported that the phrase, "connection to Xbox LIVE has been lost", was recently added to the games files, so hopefully we'll be looking at a Valorant release on Xbox in the not too distant future. Fingers crossed!

Nice. I've been wanting to play this for a while. It looks cool. Now I finally have a reason to.
I still don't know how to game with a Keyboard and mouse lmao.
Aren't the matches super long? Like each match is 15 rounds?
I might give it a shot on Xbox. It does seem somewhat fun, but I don’t feel like downloading it on my laptop.
Might be a good game but there's just to many games that I have no time to invest
I'm cautiously optimistic about this. They have to make sure there's input-based matchmaking. If they through everyone together like Halo or Call of Duty then controller players are going to get absolutely wrecked.
@somebodyelse They can go to that, but not always. However, they aren't long nor feel it because rounds are short and it's very easy to die. Think Rainbow Six or Counter-Strike. I've had Stronghold matches in Halo Infinite that have gone longer, or at least felt like it.
