Age Of Empires 4 Fans Think They've Found Evidence Of An Xbox Version

We've really enjoyed our time with Age of Empires 4 so far, but the big downside is that you can't play it on Xbox. There have been many calls over the years to bring the series to console, but for now it remains PC exclusive.

However, some fans think they might have spotted evidence of an upcoming Xbox version. Twitter user Aggiornamenti Lumia, who scans the Microsoft Store for unreleased information, has uncovered an apparent January 2022 build of the game being internally tested as part of the Xbox Insider Preview program:

While this would appear to be hinting at an Xbox version in the works, it's worth pointing out that the Xbox Insider Hub is also accessible on PC, so there are no guarantees. Regardless, fans are certainly getting their hopes up!

Even if this doesn't turn out to be anything particularly exciting, it sounds like Age of Empires 4 will be coming to Xbox eventually. The development team highlighted late last year that they would "start thinking about how to make the game run on consoles" following the PC launch, so it seems it's just a matter of time.
