This just in: Halo Infinite has officially gone gold ahead of its release on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC next month.
When a game goes gold it typically means the game has been completed, is ready to be printed to disc, and then distributed around the globe. Here's the official tweet confirming this exciting and long-awaited news:
In a follow-up tweet, the official Halo Twitter account shared a map of the release times around the world. Depending on where you live, the game will be arriving on the 8th or 9th of December.
When Halo Infinite does officially land, it'll come packed with the game's multiplayer (which you can already try out) and the campaign. Unfortunately, though, you'll have to wait a little bit longer for features like co-op and the Forge mode.
Are you ready for the release of Halo Infinite on December 8th? How have you found the game's multiplayer so far? Leave a comment down below.

Absolutely HATE it when they do these weird launch times.
6PM in the UK...
Does that mean someone who gets the game on disc can play before that while digital owners have to wait?
"When a game goes gold it typically means the game has been completed..." Er...no. It means the devs have run out of time and had to commit whatever they had to meet the timeline for production and distribution. Expect multiple multi-Gb 'updates' to follow. This is why I don't bother with discs anymore; a year down the road the only thing on it still useful is the licence you need to run the game you've had to mostly download anyway.
Can a Live-Service game every really go Gold?
Ready...Can't wait!
"Going Gold" is an archaic term that USED to mean something. Especially to the development team it meant time to have a party, get some sleep, take a break or even go on holiday.
But in these days of patches, live services and broken launches it's mostly meaningless.
