Bandai Namco's new fantasy role-playing game Tales of Arise has been well received across multiple platforms, including Xbox - with shipments and digital sales already surpassing the one million mark.
The latest entry in this long-running series was released on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Steam last week on September 10th, which also makes Arise the fast-selling entry in the history of the series.
In addition to this, the series (as a whole) has now sold over 25 million copies worldwide. It first started out on the Super Nintendo in 1995 with Tales of Phantasia. Our sister site Push Square gave the latest game nine out of ten stars and said Arise goes above and beyond expectations:
"Tales of Arise went above and beyond our expectations. With its picturesque landscapes instilling a real sense of adventure, it's easily one of the strongest, most cohesive Tales games to date. Dramatic cutscenes and memorable character moments help sell an intriguing story, while a satisfying combat system becomes more and more engaging as your party powers up. A fantastic, modernised journey with all the rewarding qualities of a classic JRPG."
If you would like to give Tales of Arise a go yourself, there's a demo available to download on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. Although progress doesn't carry across, you will get some special bonus items for the full game.
Have you tried out Tales of Arise on Xbox yet? Tell us down in the comments.

Fully deserved, been amazing so far and definitely one of the best tales of games if not the best.
I haven't played it yet but I will. It's comforting that they are getting the sales and reviews that they deserve.
@Liam_Doolan "Have you tried out Tales of Arise on the Switch yet?" Don't forget to update that line 😉.
Hopefully the X community is contributing to this fantastic series.
@Az1ner I am sure it is but most Xbox gamers are used to digital and digital sales are unknown.
@BlueOcean Ah... if only it was on Switch. Fixed!
Been playing it on my Series X, absolutely incredible Tales title. Best since Vesperia easily, definitely well earned.
@Az1ner at least on amazon charts, the game is on the top 10 for XBox (#8 right now), and was rather high earlier this week (#4 when I looked.)
Keep in mind Amazon charts change daily, maybe even hourly, and the fact that XBox users tend to be more on digital than PlayStation ones.
The digital copy via amazon is also at #23 as of right now, and that's a game you still can simply buy digitally directly from the console.
So yea, XBox is contributing to those sales.
Amazing what actually getting with the times will get ya! I've always loved the Tales games (actually trying to get through Berseria before tacking Arise) but man they've needed a refresh for a while.
I've been playing it on Steam and it's been great.
Just arrived in the 3rd area (the grasslands), and had an optional dragon boss suddenly ambush me while I was fighting some other, basic enemies (...it kicked my butt, lol). Combat is smooth & feels great when everything chains together perfectly, and it certainly doesn't hurt that the game is drop dead gorgeous. Oh, and Hootle is absolutely the best.
Certainly the best Tales game in quite some time.
@UltimateOtaku91
Really?
Mmm i am still having doubts.
Your comment almost convinced me 😂
Im gonna check reviews later.
@RR529
Grrr comments like these make it hard to resist 😂
Is there a demo?
@The-Chosen-one yeah but the demo wasn’t good. Not like the other BN demos I’ve tried. I held off until today just because I wasn’t sold on it. Lot more hopeful now
@mousieone
Mmmm maybe i will get it too.
