It's been a while since we last heard anything about Sherlock Holmes Chapter One, but now we've finally got an official release date for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S of November 16, with Xbox One to follow "later".

If you haven't been keeping track, the game is an open world story-driven detective thriller from developer Frogwares, and centres around a young Sherlock on the precipice of adulthood, before he became a famous legend.

Pre-orders will be available on the Microsoft Store imminently, with the base game set to be priced at $44.99, and the Deluxe Edition (adding the Season Pass which features a variety of new quests) available at $59.99. All pre-order customers will get the Victorian Starter Pack (with a special quest, outfits, currency and more), along with a free digital copy of Sherlock Holmes Crimes and Punishments on the same platform they ordered Chapter One on.

We're still waiting on more news about Xbox One - the team says to "stay tuned" on a release date.

You'll find more details below, along with a new gameplay deep dive to take a peek at:

As Sherlock, your legacy is written by the decisions you make in this open world detective adventure. Deception, violence, and deduction are just a few resources in your arsenal—your mysterious companion and sounding board, Jon, is another.

Whether you choose brute force to solve problems or stay one step ahead of your enemies by using your wits to spot vulnerabilities, you decide what each situation demands as you hone your investigative skills. It’s time to confront your past so you can become the legend you’re destined to be.
