EA Sports has today released the official top player ratings for FIFA 22 ahead of its release on October 1, with the new PSG signing Lionel Messi taking top spot with a 93 rating, while Man Utd's Cristiano Ronaldo is actually back in third.
Ronaldo has been given a 91, putting him on par with a bunch of players including Kylian Mbappe, Kevin De Bruyne, Neymar Jr and others, while the second place spot actually goes to Bayern's Robert Lewandowski.
Here's the full top 10:
- Lionel Messi (RW) – 93
- Robert Lewandowski (ST) – 92
- Cristiano Ronaldo (ST) – 91
- Kevin De Bruyne (CM) – 91
- Kylian Mbappé (ST) – 91
- Neymar Jr (LW) – 91
- Jan Oblak (GK) – 91
- Harry Kane (ST) – 90
- N’Golo Kanté (CDM) – 90
- Manuel Neuer (GK) – 90
The latest entry in the FIFA series is now just a few short weeks away, and with early access beginning before the end of September, you can expect to get your hands on a free trial with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate very soon.
Don't forget that the standard FIFA 22 for Xbox One won't include a free next-gen upgrade, so if you're planning to upgrade to a Series X or Series S soon-ish, you might want to look at getting the more expensive 'Ultimate Edition'.
Thoughts on the ratings? Should Messi be top? Would you put Ronaldo above him? Tell us down below.

Rightfully so.
No player from Esporte Clube Bahia on the top 10? That's it, I'll boycott FIFA 22.
Messi couldn’t hack the Premier League, that’s why he copped out and went to PSG, Ronaldo on the other hand….
