Alongside the news of Xbox hosting its own Gamescom 2021 stream, plans for a sale to tie in with the occasion have also been confirmed with up to 75% off selected titles.
The sale will be limited to European Xbox members, and it's said "a range of iconic games" will be included. While there are no set dates for the sale, with Xbox's Gamescom stream taking place on August 24, we imagine it will run throughout the usual weekly deal dates of Tuesday to the following Monday.

I dont think I've heard of Xbox users being referred to as members before. Unless they are calling us the other definition of members 😅. Sorry, the word just stuck out to me as odd! It's not necessarily incorrect I suppose.
@ralphdibny Only Sony refers to us that way. Ok, and Nintendo....
It’s not just for European members. The US Xbox Wire site posted early this morning.
Says right in the article “ Save up to 75% during the Xbox gamescom Sale”
https://news.xbox.com/en-us/2021/08/09/join-us-for-the-gamescom-2021-xbox-stream-and-more/
Edit: Ignore. I misread the article
@NEStalgia 😅 I guess I refer to myself that way then as I am also a playstation and Nintendo user...er excuse me, I mean member 😂
@ralphdibny Yep, I'm definitely a $70 game buying full price port owning member. Just a giant Sony and Nintendo member....
Looking forward to Xbox’s presence at Gamescom and their indie twitch showcase.
😐
@awp69 On the link you shared
“During gamescom we’ll run a digital Xbox gamescom Sale for our fans in Europe."
@InterceptorAlpha Damn. Good catch. Not even sure why they’d mention that and have a bold header in an article on the US site.
Again, Europe gets the shaft! That's unacceptable that's... What? Europe only? Sorry, I'm in shock 😉 I'll have a look but with my backlog and Hades/Art of Rally coming soon I don't see myself buying anything.
@NEStalgia don't kid yourself, MS is no exception. It doesn't matter how friendly their CEOs and social media account is, all big companies see us as members with tasty wallets
@PapaGlitch I see it like this. Nintendo is that abusive partner who sometimes treats you to nice things so you go along with the twisted mind games. Sony full on wife beater vests the crap out of you. Microsoft is a psychopath but is so charming and generous you're willing to look the other when they kill the competition.
So does this include the UK?
@Doctorwhoooourgh that made me chuckle for real.
@PapaGlitch It's true, but at the present moment in time, MS treats you as a customer they actually want to return. The other's treat you like addicts who have no choice but to return.
Microsoft gives you 3 different ways to play the Halo series on 4 different platforms with 2 different payment models and includes a low priced bundle that features remasters/remakes of the early games with 2 of the games a cheap DLC.
If it were Sony, they'd sell a "remaster" of Halo 5, add adaptive trigger vibration and a new map, call it a Director's Cut and charge $70. To play Halo 1 and 2 you'd have to stream them on Now in 720p.
If it were Nintendo they'd sell the original unremastered version of Halo 1 running in emulation, inexplicably bundled with ODST, and only ODST, up-scaled to 720p at the original 30fps, and charge $60. You could only buy it until February 21.
@Doctorwhoooourgh LOL, that right there is the best summary there is.
@robe yes it includes the UK as we are in Europe (geographically speaking at least)
@VOODOO85 cheers, I didn't know is MS still saw it that way.
