In a move which all of us pretty much predicted, the Limited Edition Halo Infinite Xbox Series X (announced yesterday at Gamescom Opening Night Live) is selling out incredibly fast when it goes live, with fans desperate to get one.
And, in another very unsurprising turn of events, they're already being sold at a significant mark-up on eBay. As highlighted by Video Games Chronicle earlier today, plenty of listings are sitting at around $1000 right now.
The issue of scalpers getting their hands on multiple consoles reared its head in a big way back at the launch of the Series X in November 2020, and it looks like it's going to have a major effect on these limited edition systems as well.
In terms of being able to get one directly from a retailer, we're still a little bit in the dark right now. It's been said that the Halo consoles will be available at retailers worldwide, but we've only seen a few of them pop up so far.
If you want one, keep a very close eye out at various retailers (including the Microsoft Store) over the next few days!
What are your thoughts on this? Did you get a Halo Infinite Series X pre-order? Let us know below.

Seriously...
I wanted one for myself, you know, just to PLAY WITH IT, the way it is supposed to be.
Thinking about it, the scalpers themselves are not the real problem : despite of what I'm thinking about these people, what they're doing is technically legal...
But the BUYERS ? Yeah, here is the real problem. No buyer, no market, no scalp.
Seriously (again), WHO IS PAYING THAT KIND OF MONEY for that ? Please, don't engage in that game, don't contribute to the pratic in itself ! Or this kind of problem is going to last forever and ever... :-/
@Bobobiwan Completely agree.
I think scalpers are total scumbags, but people buy it.
I can't for the life of me understand why they're even bothering to release this. Might as well just send them out to the bots now and be done with it.
Scalpers not the problem. As always it's the Buyers.
This reminds me of Super Mario 3D All-Stars for over 2,500 just when it was officially unlisted...ðĪŠ while most ads listed it for the official price.
Currently available at GAME in the UK!

Did it just then and bam, there it was!!
Came straight here to let you lot know ð
Good luck anyone who's after one.
I need to chill out, the excitement and stress of getting it has my hands shaking and my heart going a million miles an hour haha
A regular edition is all I want and can't even find that anywhere still. Some day I am sure.
Not surprised atall...the majority of humans are greedy selfish scum...I could get one to sell on easily but you know morals
@LocalPenguin Standalone console is out of stock but still available via the bundles.
EDIT: Now fully out of stock.
@LocalPenguin
Well done. Got mine last night on UK Microsoft store.
@FraserG
Well done again for link, after last nights UK Microsoft store link.
Man these scalpers make me sick..
@Grumblevolcano Yeah they're sneaky like that. Did you manage to get one mate?
@Dezzy70 I was so close last night! Had one in my basket all the way to payment and it all went wrong. I was gutted. So relieved today to have got hold of one ð
@LocalPenguin
Game seem to sold out now, so you did well to get one. I managed last night just. The minute it went through I checked after and sold out.
Roll on the 15th of November.
Have you got the standard series x?
I guess I will sell my standard series x, but for no more than the standard ÂĢ450 price to a gamer.
@Dezzy70 I got a Series X at launch mate yeah ð At the time I wished for a Halo edition so I'm very happy to see one so soon ð
I agree 100% with regards to selling it. I'll sell it locally for the RRP.
I really can't understand who pays $1000 for a video game console. Though I also can't understand who pays over a million for Mario 64.....
The more money, the less intelligence?
@NEStalgia
Collectors and enthusiasts around the world pay a lot more for other things.
Certain plates and vases, the Ming dynasty for a start ð.
@Dezzy70 Historical artifacts from a lost period of cultural significance is one thing. Mass manufactured products from 25 years ago.....or.....that haven't even been manufactured yet..... is another.
Buying a Ming vase, of which a handful exist and typifies the craftsmanship design of a time period from centuries ago. A video game cartridge from the 90's of which millions were made, plenty still exist, and the actual content is still current a bit less so. And a console that hasn't even shipped yet is quite another
@NEStalgia
I see your point, but at the end of the day everyone is different and what they wish to do with their money is up to them.
Some spend it on lots of alcohol or dining out or playing golf or watching sports or very expensive clothes. We all have our niche ð.
@Dezzy70 True, but you can't get that Ming vase or Gucci belt for half the price if you just wait a few months. You can get a Series X for that.
Obligatory "it's the 21st century, can we please stop using the world scalpers". It's not the1600s North American settler time anymore. As you were gents. Really hate the instant resale market, I respect the longhaul sales a bit more where someone cherishes it for years before giving it up for pure cheddar
Well I'm over the moon as my girlfriend knowing how much I wanted one as a massive Halo fan, woke me up this morning telling me she found one on the Game website and bought it for me! She's a damn keeper! ðððð
