343 Industries has been demoing Halo Infinite's multiplayer ahead of the game's first technical preview this weekend, and as part of this, we've been treated to footage of a full multiplayer match on Xbox Series X hardware.
The footage was showcased as part of an hour-long stream, which also gave us an in-depth look into the upcoming preview, including the new Weapon Drills in the Academy, Spartan Customisation and the game's Battle Pass.
The Series X footage at the top of the page, however, isn't based on this weekend's preview (which is focused around bots), but instead shows off a 4v4 Slayer game on the Live Fire map from a recent development build.
343 also showed off some Xbox One footage which you can see below, again highlighting Slayer gameplay from the new Bazaar map, giving us a chance to see how the game runs on last-gen hardware. It seems to cope well!
If you've been invited, the first Halo Infinite technical preview takes place from July 29 to August 1,so keep checking your emails for instructions on how to download it later today / tomorrow.
You can also catch up with today's entire hour-long Halo stream over at the official Halo YouTube channel.
Liking the look of Halo Infinite's multiplayer so far? Give us your thoughts on this footage down below.

@Rural-Bandit I’ll be there. Multiplayer looks great.
This will be my third time playing Halo Infinite multiplayer.
I absolutely despise multiplayer modes in games, but this game is so freaking fun - I love it!
I look forward to playing with the broader community and I hope everyone has a blast (pun intended)!
@GamingFan4Lyf
And least we forget, that's exactly what games should give us... fun, enjoyment, engagement. As someone who is also multiplayer adverse at times, your remarks give me a lot of hope! cheers.
I liked that they started with XB1 gameplay, if you're going to release games on weak hardware then show gameplay on that hardware rather than the first footage appearing very close to launch. 343 seems to have learned from CDPR's Cyberpunk 2077 mistakes.
@Grumblevolcano lol just watched the technical video and thought it looked really poor. Didn't realise is was Xbox one! Phew 😁
Got my selection email, waiting on instructions. Really looking forward to this.
@TanaD Halo multiplayer just seems....more fair for everyone.
Like, I don't feel like I need to spend hours upon hours upon hours trying to get pinpoint accuracy to enjoy Halo against other people.
One of the matches I played on the last Halo Infinite test I took part in I had 22 kills alone. It only happened the once, but still - this is the kind of game where you just get into an awesome groove and feel accomplished. I generally average about 10 kills. Sadly, my death count probably averages like 15.
My biggest problem with online games is that I always feel like I empty countless bullets into other players only for them to like one-shot me.
I don't think I ever killed a soul in COD Warzone - even after playing for hours over the span of a few days. It just never feels like I am getting any better or learning anything when I can't even figure out how to kill someone they way they kill me - it's not fun.
Halo feels different.
Why should I play this in multiplayer, instead of the dozens and dozens of other options out there? Honest question, which - I think - developers always miss to answer.
PS:
"It's Halo", doesn't cut it, to be honest. I like Halo, but I'd like to see something really special, related to the gameplay.
