Microsoft has officially announced all four Xbox Games With Gold titles for August 2021! These games are available to download for free for Xbox Live Gold members (including subscribers to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate).
Here's the complete list of titles you can look forward to in August:
Xbox Series X / Xbox One
Darksiders III (August 1 - 31):
Return to an apocalyptic Earth in Darksiders III, a hack-n-slash Action Adventure where players assume the role of FURY in her quest to hunt down and dispose of the Seven Deadly Sins. The most unpredictable and enigmatic of the Four Horsemen, FURY must succeed where many have failed – to bring balance to the forces that now ravage Earth.
Yooka-Laylee (August 16 - September 15)
Explore huge, beautiful worlds, meet (and beat) an unforgettable cast of characters and horde a vault-load of shiny collectibles as buddy-duo Yooka (the green one) and Laylee (the wisecracking bat with the big nose) embark on an epic adventure to thwart corporate creep Capital B and his devious scheme to absorb all the world’s books… and convert them into pure profit!
Xbox 360 / Original Xbox
Lost Planet 3 (August 1 - 15):
With numerous multiplayer modes and a highly engrossing cinematic single player experience, Lost Planet 3 delves deeper into the Lost Planet universe, uncovering hidden truths within the unique environment of E.D.N. III.
Garou: Mark of the Wolves (August 16 - 31):
It is the latest title of the Fatal Fury series [GAROU -MARK OF THE WOLVES-] comes to Xbox LIVE! With the New Hero “Rock Howard” who is only son of Geese Howard and rose up by legendary wolf Terry Bogard, story of the new wolves begin.

Pretty good selection, I don't have any of the games. Well, I have Yooka Laylee on Switch but I'll take it on X1.

A decent mix this month - only one that I have zero interest in is the fighting game but will add all the others - whether I get to play them or not is a different matter with all the games coming in the next few months

Wow! This lineup actually puts the PS+ lineup for August to shame. I'll take everything except Garou- I'm over fighting games. My daughter will squeal with joy when I show her Yooka-Laylee 😁

I'm a great believer in the idea that you can never own Garou on too many systems. I'll now have it on Dreamcast, Switch, Vita, PS2, PS4, PC and Xbone!

Clicked with trepidation. Not because of the quality of games but the usual comments after GWG announcement. Happy with games and that others are happy. I'm now off to go crash a plane several times while trying to look for places I know...
Pretty solid list for those who haven't played them. None of these really appeal to me, personally, but that's because I've already beaten Darksiders III and own Lost Planet 3. I'll give Yooka-Laylee another chance, but damn, another X360 fighting game. I've amassed quite the collection of those through GWG lol.
A decent month, better than what Sony is offering for PS+ this August (not trying to start a war, I play on PlayStation). Competition is a good thing!

Mark Of the Wolves. One of the best game on MVS/NeoGeo.
Its a sign of a good month when you already own 3 of the 4 games. Sigh.
