Asobo Studio's A Plague Tale: Innocence was supposed to be getting a free Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S upgrade (included with Xbox Game Pass) tomorrow, but it appears to have rolled out a day early.
We've tested it for ourselves and can confirm that our Xbox Series X tries to download the enhanced version of the game via Game Pass (as indicated by a little logo), clocking in with a download size of just under 42GB.
As for what you can expect, the next-gen edition includes "4K UHD (only on Xbox Series X), 60 FPS, and 3D audio support". The game itself is definitely a Game Pass gem, and now is the perfect time to check it out!
After the recent reveal of A Plague Tale: Requiem at the E3 2021 Xbox Games Showcase, Asobo Studio and Focus Home Interactive are thrilled to announce that the critically-acclaimed first opus of the series, A Plague Tale: Innocence, comes in an enhanced version to Xbox Series X|S on July 6. This enhanced version will feature 4K UHD (only on Xbox Series X), 60 FPS, and 3D audio support.
Will you be jumping back into A Plague Tale: Innocence on Xbox Game Pass? Let us know in the comments.

Oh, excellent news!
I was gonna play a spot of Forza 7 tonight while I waited for it to drop tomorrow. Guess I'll crack straight on with it tonight 😁
Never played it before so I'm looking forward to it.
Nice. I will probably play this one on ps5 for a change though, I just like the dualsense feedback. Fantastic game.
I have been playing this game on my Series S for a week now and was always under the X/S enhanced section 😳
Thanks Game Pass...
Not long finished Yakuza: LAD, now I'm 8 hours into Doom Eternal and now they drop this a day early.
I need more free time!
Still haven’t played this so need to check it out. It’ll have to wait though as I’ve just started replaying Metro Exodus (also because of the recent upgrade) and the Tomb Raider (reboot) trilogy.
@The_New_Butler I have 65 games on 2 SSD's. Truly a blessing
I know I'm a peasant with my Series S, but it would be nice to have the enhancement details for the S listed as well. Some of the devs are highlighting the X enhancements because they're snazzy but us unwashed Series S owners are left to guess what the changes are, if any.
@LocalPenguin you are in for a treat. 😁
@MrClump Wow, I certainly was!
Played the first 3 chapters and cannot believe how fantastic it is?!
It's baffling that this game didn't get more fanfare at release.
