We know Forza Horizon 5 will have stunning visuals, exhilarating races, and a banging soundtrack - but did you know you'll be able to chase storms? As revealed in a recent Forza Horizon 5: Let’s ¡Go! video, weather is being massively upgraded in the next game, such as dust storms being added.

The best thing about this though is that players will be able to see them from a distance, as they reside in specific biomes - a first for the series. As jokingly put by the game's art director Don Arceta: "Storm chasing was a big thing in our plans when we were starting the project."

From the 18:18 mark in the video, the team also shares an older internal video to demonstrate weather being spotted in the distance. It's a great showcase for the two new seasonal weather effects in the game - a towering dust storm and tropical storms. We can't wait to chase after these in free roam, reliving our favourite moments from the 90's classic film, Twister.

"We have two new weather effects which are seasonal, which is our towering dust storms and our tropical storms. The one thing that's new about that as well is that it doesn't just happen around you, you actually can see it from a distance an approach it, which is something we've never done in a Horizon game."

Everything we've seen for Forza Horizon 5 so far is promising a visual showpiece for the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S hardware, while also pushing the Xbox One to its limits. Playground Games previously mentioned that the team fells "pretty great" about all versions of the game, including that last-gen edition as well. With the game launching day one into Xbox Game Pass on November 9, we can't wait to check it out.
