Back 4 Blood's DLC Can Be Shared Between Multiple Players, Even If Only One Person Owns It

One of the most annoying things about about paid DLC in multiplayer games is how it segregates players. While developers have worked on bringing free content as part of their post-launch plans, there are still some instances where paid DLCs and expansions cause roadblocks for players - but not in Back 4 Blood. The upcoming Xbox Game Pass title will include paid post-launch content, but only one person needs to own it.

In a recent blog post from Turtle Rock Studios, the team revealed its plans to not cause any splits within the community for its post-launch content. Everyone will be able to enjoy it, as long as the party leader owns it.

"If your party leader owns a paid content drop, you will be able to play that content with them - including maps, gameplay and campaigns.

No separation. No exclusion. No split."

The developer also expanded on how this will work in PvP, explaining how everyone can earn all additional PvP content without needing to purchase future content drops.

"In PvP, everyone who bought Back 4 Blood can get access to all additional PvP content, even without purchasing content drops. Players who don't buy the content drops can earn new playable characters and ridden in PvP, for free, through progression.

Additionally, all PvP players have access to the same cards at the start of each match, regardless of whether those players have purchased content drops or not."

It's a great concept, and we just hope in PvP it doesn't take too much effort to unlock those additional pieces of content that may give other players an advantage.

Back 4 Blood will be hitting Xbox Game Pass day one on October 12. Compiled of veterans from the Left 4 Dead series, we have high hopes for this one and it could be a great title to play over the Halloween season.
