Update: It's now been officially confirmed that Cold Iron Studios' co-operative shooter Aliens: Fireteam Elite will be facehugging Xbox consoles on August 24, with a brand-new, action-packed trailer showcasing it in action.

You can pre-order the game to receive the Hardened Marine Pack, which includes the bandana head accessory, digital red weapon camo, 3 weapon decals, and chestburster emote.

Set in the iconic Alien universe, Aliens: Fireteam Elite is a cooperative third-person survival shooter that drops your fireteam of hardened marines into a desperate fight to contain the evolving Xenomorph threat.

Face off against waves of terrifying Xenomorph and Weyland-Yutani Synthetic foes alongside two players or AI teammates, as you and your fireteam desperately fight your way through four unique campaigns that introduce new storylines to the Alien universe. Create and customize your own Colonial Marine, choosing from an extensive variety of classes, weapons, gear, and perks, battling overwhelming odds in this heart-pounding survival shooter experience.

Original Story: Aliens: Fireteam Elite is a co-operative shooter in the same vein as Left 4 Dead. It got announced earlier this year, but since then it's kind of fallen off the radar. It was said to be releasing this summer, but we haven't heard much - until now.

The game has appeared at Best Buy in America, complete with an overview, screenshots, and of course, a release date. The retailer has it slated to be dropping on August 24, putting it only two short months away. It also seems to support Smart Delivery, so anyone on Xbox One is eligible for a free Xbox Series X|S upgrade when the time comes.

The screenshots seem to show numerous environments, including ruins which appear strikingly similar to those seen in Prometheus. There's no official word on a release date yet, so this could be a placeholder, but considering all the details available (including the new 'Elite' part of the name), we're confident this appears to be the correct date.
