In an effort to listen to fans who have been asking for more content in their Resident Evil games, Capcom is bringing back the fan favourite Mercenaries mode in Resident Evil Village.

The arcade action returns, with some brand new ideas under its belt. Moving away from the slow paced, methodical nature of the main game, Mercenaries will give you the tools you need to tackle hordes of oncoming enemies. You'll have to be quick and clean, as a time limit will be constantly pushing you forward.

New this time around is the ability to access the Duke's Emporium between stages, which acts as a means to upgrade your weapons and purchase items to help you as you progress further. There will also be the ability to grab ability pick-ups in each stage, offering some pretty neat buffs to your character such as increased movement speed.

For those who want to blow off some steam after the horrors of the main story, this will be a perfect excuse to test each weapon out to its full advantage and blow some zombies to bits. With this mode, there's also the possibility of it being supported down the line with new weapons, stages, and more.

Resident Evil Village looks like the full package, and May 7 can't come soon enough for us. If you can't wait, a limited time demo will alos be available early next month to give you a taste of what's to come.
