Microsoft revealed during its latest earnings call earlier this week that it was expecting Xbox Series X stock to remain "constrained" over the next few months, and AMD CEO Lisa Su has echoed those comments.
Speaking during AMD’s fourth-quarter earnings call earlier this week (thanks VGC), Su acknowledged that the gaming markets have been experiencing supply constraints, and she believes that will continue for now.
“It’s fair to say that the overall demand exceeded our planning and as a result, we did have some supply constraints as we ended the year. Those were primarily, I would say, in the PC market, the low end of the PC market and in the gaming markets.
“That being said, I think we’re getting great support from our manufacturing partners. The industry does need to increase the overall capacity levels and so we do see some tightness through the first half of the year, but there is added capacity in the second half.”
Su's comments are not unexpected, as various members of team Xbox have indicated over the past few months that they anticipate supply issues for the time being, but hopefully things will pick up sooner rather than later!
When do you think the supply situation will return to normal? Give us your thoughts down below.

Finally go mine Earlier this week! Had to do GameStop’s all access program, but I got one!!
I plan to get an Xbox Series X in November when Infinite is released and hopefully i can go into a store and buy one.
Got mine release day thank god.
Though my game pass runs out February 2021
So what not mind getting a series x on all access and just sell my other one for the RRP.
@species8472
That will be an amazing time when we can go back shopping and also buy a next generation console in a shop.
Anybody want a series x I just seen on argos in UK has some in stock
I was lucky enough for an online order on day one. Bookmark a bunch of sites that sell online, and browse occasionally.
Also, keep an eye on Twitter for updates from Wario64.
Good luck to those trying to secure a Series X..
It does sound like amd is the biggest bottleneck in production. Probably for Sony too, though they had more available than in the past for sure.
What i want to know if how and managed to low ball their predictions so terribly? Even in their core PC market. They just underestimated their markets across the board. How does that happen? Can't even say they listened to too much patch attack... They got pc wrong, too.
I just got mine in today! Through Walmart all access. I have a question: I’m
Trying to move my series S version games over to the series X through the expansion drive. However it looks like they didn’t update to the series x versions automatically. So I. Have to redownload everything?
Hopefully, by then(second half of 2021), both ps5/xbsx will be freely available, with games aplenty.
I got stupid lucky and managed to get one from Amazon on preorder day, and it got delivered day 1. Yesterday I grabbed one of the 1TB Expansion Cards from WalMart, they happened to have one in store and thanks to game pass I am already down to only 200 gig open on my internal (using two 4TB drives for older titles)
