If you're a regular viewer of Twitch, you've probably noticed the PC multiplayer survival game Rust drawing massive numbers of views on the platform recently, and you'll be able to try it for yourself on console relatively soon.

It looks like things are progressing, as the website for the Entertainment Software Rating Board has now rated Rust Console Edition for Xbox One and PS4 - but notably there's no sign of an 'optimised' next-gen version at launch.

Back in early December, developer Double Eleven apologised for not being able to release the game for consoles in 2020 as planned, explaining that the year "presented challenges as we’ve found new ways to work with each other".

"We’re sorry that we haven’t been able to bring you Rust on console in 2020 as planned. We know from all of the messages that you’re excited to play it and we hope that with the dawn of 2021 we can restore your trust as we edge closer to being able to share something with you."

Do you think we'll see Rust Console Edition soon? Give us your thoughts down in the comments.
