In case you'd forgotten, Grand Theft Auto V is officially coming to Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S in an enhanced form in 2021, as revealed at Sony’s PlayStation 5 digital event back in June of 2020.

We don't know too much about this version so far, but we're expecting many more details will be revealed over the next few months, so we'll keep updating this guide as and when Rockstar decides to let us know more.

Here's a catch-up of everything we know about GTA V for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S so far...

When Is GTA V Coming To Xbox Series X?

There's no specific release date as of yet, but Rockstar has confirmed that it plans to release GTA V for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S in the second half of 2021, alongside a new standalone version of GTA Online.

Interestingly, GTA Online will be exclusively free on PlayStation 5 for the first three months after going standalone, so we're assuming it'll then be free on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S in the latter part of 2021.

How Will GTA V Be Improved For Xbox Series X?

The only official details that have been provided so far are that the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S versions "will feature a range of technical improvements, visual upgrades and performance enhancements to take full advantage of the latest hardware, making the game more beautiful and more responsive than ever."

There's also a rumour doing the rounds based on newly discovered in-game files that GTA V for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S might use the Red Dead Redemption 2 version of the Rockstar RAGE game engine.
