Gears Of War Reloaded Beta: Release Date, Start Times And How To Access

Can't wait to jump on this hopefully it doesn't control like the original gears multiplayer though and is more like the modern gears multiplayer!

The only two modes that I play in Gears of War are the campaign and Horde, and as the first game doesn't have Horde, that means the only mode I shall play is the campaign, so there is nothing for me in the Beta. I will likely jump into the campaign though when it releases, particularly if there are achievements to be earned for playing it on the hardest difficulty. That said, I wonder if they will add an Inconceivable difficulty for this game? I've beaten every game solo on the hardest difficulty, and it would be amiss of me to not do so in this game too. I'm hoping that progress does not carry over from the Ultimate Edition as it's fun hunting down the CoG tags, etc. and popping the achievements as you go. Mind you, General RAAM solo on Insane was difficult enough, and with the half-heath you get from Inconceivable, I can see him being a proper pain...

I'm still suprised it needs a beta, it's a graphical remaster of X1 remake that already got X enhancements and FPS boost on Series.

@Fiendish-Beaver They should really put some sort of horde version in the game despite the fact it wasn't in the original as you know yourself there's still plenty playing horde on gears 5 everyday on both the public and private servers!
But maybe that's asking to much 🤷

@abe_hikura It's more to wet the appetite for people who are into the multiplayer they have done multiplayer betas for most of the gears games before they released starting with gears of war 3✌️

I don't think they will add a horde mode, @Ricky-Spanish, but it isn't beyond the realms of possibility. I think the real question is whether when (not if!) they release the Reloaded version of Gears of War 2, will they include the Horde mode it came with, will they remove it entirely, or will they add in an updated version such as we have now (but with the enemies from the era of the original trilogy). Obviously, the Horde mode in the second game was a lot different to that we have now, and in many ways was a lot harder without having the ability to set defences, and no mutators like we had in 3.

My feeling is they will remove it entirely, but one can only hope they give us some type of Horde mode with the second game...

Ya apparently codes are being sent out to basically anyone who had play history for ultimate. I see one person here got one last night, I've yet to be blessed by the COG.

Thank you for clarifying in this post that you need to download the specific beta as I had thought pre-installing the main game was all we needed to do to access the beta.

I got a code for the new game but I only own Ultinate physically. I redeemed it until they rescind it further down the line unless future PS5 players are subsidising this give away.

@Jsb5150 Me too I own or owned the ultimate version I must of because I completed the game in 2016 before gamepass existed but still no code and I never got the Forza code a while back either!!
Hopefully I get one but I'm not holding my breath Microsoft must have something against me 😭🤷

Maybe you guys from PureXbox can ask MS if there are additional conditions or why it looks random who gets it. Some people just played a gamepass version , some only own the 360 disc version , some only the ultimate version and got it , others like myself own practically every version and got nothing. Thankfully I got the code from a friend that received one that played and owned pretty much the same gears games I did.
