Topic: Right analog stick unresponsive

Help please!!

The right analog stick on our Elite series 2 completely stopped working all of a sudden. At first we went to test the button in the system menu and the test showed the button should be working but when we backed out still no response. After that we went through updating the controller, soft reset the console, power cycled the controller, etc. We researched and have tried all of the trouble shooting steps we could find. Then we tried an old controller and it still didn’t work. We got a different Xbox that we own, mainly used for movies, just to see if the problem still persists and unfortunately the right stick was still unresponsive. At this point we are at a complete loss as to what to do next. Any help would be great appreciated!

@Martinashley1025 hi, when you say you the button, do you mean the stick click? Or is the stick itself not being picked up in game when you move it?

Also when you say you “tried an old controller and it still didn’t work” do you mean that the right stick isn’t working on that controller too?

But you have also tried the elite controller on a second console and that didn’t work either?

If the elite controller isn’t working properly on two consoles, it suggests that it’s the controller that’s the issue. If your second controller also isn’t working correctly, it may just be that you have two controllers with broken analog sticks. Sticks tend to be one of the first things to go on many controllers, it’s not uncommon for them to pick up stick drift, where it seems the stick is moving in game even when you aren’t touching the stick at all.
