Topic: getting stuff off XBL

Now that MS have got rid of MSPoints and gone to real currency, is anyone else having a problem getting things off XBL let me explain

when the change over happened i got a e-mail stating i had about £1.50 in my account so today i tried to download a avatar item that cost 60p but i'm not allowed because i don't have a credit/debit card on my account even though the money is already there

i don't want to put my card on there so what do i do?

I believe it needs some type of "backup" payment option in case you don't have enough credit.

OH! well they never said that but i still don't want my card on there i don't need it on PSN or Nintendo Network plus i'm a little security conscious i don't want my details all over the place

honestly since the last update i had nothing but trouble i had to re-download my account to be able to log in and my dad has lost all access to his, i had to set him up a new one he lost all his minecraft saves (it's because he couldn't remember his password or enough info to allow him to reset it)

I used a pre paid MS card that I got at Target the other day to buy Bully and everything worked fine for me.  Didn't have to put in my credit card or anything.

we don't have them in the UK (or at least i can't find them anywhere) but thanks for the help anyway

FullbringIchigo - were you trying to buy the item via your Xbox 360, or via a web browser? Some folks have reported problems buying stuff via the browser, but on the console it's fine.

I bought a game this week via the browser without problems, but I assume it used my PayPal as the "backup payment option" that they have absolutely no need for, but yet seem to want.

it was via web browser, but if it works ok on the console then that's good
