Well now that Arkham City Origins has been announced this is the place to talk about it.

While it does sound interesting to me I can't help but feel this is a cash in on the first two Arkham games.  First off let me say I can't judge how this company will do it since I never played Arkham City on the Wii U (I have the GOTY edition on XBox) so they might surprise me and do a good job on it.  However adding the fact that neither Rocksteady nor Paul Dini dont have anything really to do with it just make it seem like a cash in to me.  I mean yeah WB might as I said do a good job but IMO they should have just called it something else Maybe just Batman Origins or maybe Batman Gotham City Origins.  It just feels to me like what WB did with Superman Returns lol.

Of course I may change my mind once I see some actual game play footage but I think I will wait on this one and add it to my rental pile first.

What do you all think?  ARe you eager to play this one or does it sound like a cash in to you as well?

I'll be honest and say that I wasn't a massive fan of the first two games anyway. They were technically solid, but I didn't think that they were massively compelling.

I really can't tell if this is going to be better or worse. It'll sell loads either way, and that's the goal, of course.

I heard the Wii U port of Arkham City was glitchy, but it added a lot of interesting features, so as long as these guys get more experience, I'd assume they'll be good. I'd have to see a trailer to see if it's worth it or not. The 3DS + Vita title is also promising.

No Rocksteady, no Paul Dini, pretty much a no buy for me. It would take a lot for an accomplished studio to make a Batman game that lives up to Asylum and City let alone a 'B' team like WB Montreal so I expect this game to be very mediocre. The handheld game could go either way, I'd lean towards it not being so good but maybe if the Vita is the lead platform I'll end up being pleasantly surprised. If 3DS is the lead, I'm not even going to bother, I get that the 3DS is the machine that sells better but I'm sick of developers wasting the potential of a system like Vita. There's absolutely no reason that a machine that got great portable versions of Rayman Origins, MLB The Show, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Street Fighter X Tekken, Dead or Alive 5, and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 1 & 2 shouldn't have gotten a great version of Lego Batman 2, it would've been very easy to port the 360/PS3 game over but for whatever idiotic reason Vita owners got stuck with a trashy 3DS port. If this is just another port of a game designed for 3DS I am not going to be pleased. Make the game for Vita then port to the 3DS, that way everybody wins. Most of the guys working on Blackgate are former members of Retro Studios though which likely means 3DS is the lead.

It's harder to develop for Vita & port to 3DS. They should start on PC keeping the 3DS tech specs in mind & make the Vita version closer to the PC's graphics when porting to it.
