Topic: Strange headset issue

Hi, my son’s new Xbox series S arrived 2 days ago. When we connect his wired headset to the controller he is able to hear other friends and they can hear him. However he cannot hear the game through his headset. No game music or sounds coming through. I’ve checked the settings and they seem ok. When I connect an old wired controller to the series S the wired headset works fine so it’s not a headset problem. I can’t understand how he can hear friends but no game sounds? Can anyone help?? Please!

Just throwing this out there, but seeing how it is new: have you tried updating the software of the controller via the accessories tab on the XBox?

Ok thanks. I’ve just done the update on the controller and still no sound. Mic chat with friends is fine but no sound through the game. Disappointed. Is there a forum anywhere that I can chat directly to someone from Xbox?

@stephenwilsonisat The only other thing I can think of is double checking the game sound/voice chat balance when you open up the Guide when the headset is connected?
