Topic: issue with Xbox series s download speeds

Hi everyone,

Just got my xbox series s and im downloading my 1st game. But I think there is something wrong with the Manage Queue tab.

Im downloading Deathloop and in the Manage Queue tab it says the download speed is consistently about 19/20 mbps. However the actual progress tab is advancing at a MUCH slower speed, maybe about 2 mbps.

The install tab says it will take about 4 hours, which would mean about 2mbps. If it would really be 20mbps as it says on the top right corner it should be about 35/40 mins right?

Already checked the connection with the xbox and the 20 mbps is consistent with the tests I run on the settings tab and similar to when I test it on my laptop.

Anyone has this type of missmatch? Maybe the progress bar is not accurate? Maybe its not really downloading at 20 mbps?

First off there's nothing wrong with the Manage Queue tab. I have an Xbox Series X, and this same thing happened to me twice over the past two months, then it cleared itself quickly enough and never happened again.

Are you using a wired or wifi connection?

What time of day / night are you trying to download? Also on what days? It might be high server use.

Does your ISP consistently provide reliable broadband connection, and what plan you're on? Is it unlimited download? Going by the comment you have a 20Mbps cap.

If you're using wifi, check the modem / router and see if 'mobile signal' or whatever light it is if it frequently flashes between red and green. If it frequently goes from green to red, then either there's ISP maintenance works going on, or the router / modem is doing a firmware update. You can try again later or better still the next day and see if the speed is normal.

It might be just the server that reduces the download speed to keep up demand, and the connection might be attempting to change to any other available server that has Deathloop on it. From time to time the download speed experienced could be from 20Mbps to 2Mbps and back up to 20Mbps. This is normal for server downloads and nothing to do with your Xbox, ISP, or whatever the Manage Queue shows.
