@themightyant I have no idea! I'll be hitting up Doctor Google for the solution to that one.

@crippyd Thanks. I tried. There were only a few videos on it at the time but couldn't make it happen.

@themightyant Have you looked on true achievements? They usually have a load of solutions on how to get specific achievements.

@themightyant I'll give it a try tonight and see if I can finish it up. Cheers for the link.

@crippyd I'm missing 3 achievements as well from the campaign - the LASO, the 'speed run' and that thrown Grunt achievement too. I won't bother speed running or LASO so I don't know if I'll try and get the extra 10 score from the thrown grunt...

Anyway, congrats on completing your LASO run...

Why can't life be like gaming? Why can't I restart from an earlier checkpoint??

@BAMozzy Thanks! The speed run was super simple. Stick it on easy and literally run through the campaign. Hardly anything can kill you and it took me two sessions to beat it, about 6 ish real hours.

@crippyd I'm sure it would be a 'breeze' to blast through on 'Easy' mode - especially after beating it on Legendary, but that's not really the point. I don't mind certain 'challenges' in game for an Achievement - like bringing home the Scorpion without it being destroyed for example, but when its Achievements that force you to play a 'certain way' that's not your preferred play style and/or make you have to play through the entire 'story' again - like rush through as fast as you can to beat the game in a set time or ones that mean you have to play the game again on some difficulty setting that wasn't available at the 'start' just don't appeal to me.

I like to take my time, enjoy the story, the exploration and/or whatever else the game has to offer at a 'difficulty' setting that 'suits' me. Once the Story is over, the credits finished etc, I will then maybe go round mopping up any missed collectables/achievements etc that I can pretty easily 'jump' to, clear them up, then move on to my 'next' game. I don't think I've ever played a complete campaign more than once - I may of jumped back and replayed odd chapters to get some achievement specific to that mission but never played the 'same' game version campaign multiple times.

Of course I've played some campaigns multiple times - either 'remastered' for a new generation or the 'same' game ported to different Hardware. I played through the Witcher 3 and both DLC's on both PS4 & XB1 for example but as soon as the campaign is 'finished', I don't tend to want to 'replay' the entire game again, especially not for 'just' 1 achievement/trophy.

So for me, I think I have 'finished' with Halo Infinite as I don't play the MP and Finished off the Gunk afterwards too. I missed '2' collectables in one late mission in the Medium, but because no level select, I never bothered replaying to get those either...

@BAMozzy Fair play. I am normally of a similar persuasion but on Halo I make the exception. I would normally move on when the campaign is finished unless there was some real easy achievments to pick up but I do like to complete the solo Legendary on these and I have done on all of the games so far. This is the first time I've attempted the LASO though.

@themightyant I know this mini review you wrote was a while ago but it's absolutely spot on. All the points you made, I completely agree. Well done 👍

Ive Been played the MCC the last couple of weeks. Mainly Reach and Halo 2 remaster. Wow they play amazing for older games and I prefer them to infinite by a lot. I think the same locations and the fights all feel very similar, the missing flood. And yes infinite needs a dedicated grapple button - I would then reward it an 8/10.

@themcnoisy thanks that’s appreciated! Going back and reading my review it reads like a 6/10 but I can’t emphasise enough how much the things it does right are really good. It’s just a shame that the other things weren’t quite there imho, else this would have been exemplary

Interesting video on Halo: Infinite and the changes they had to overcome between Halo 5 and Infinite and changing from 'fixed hardware' with a 'fixed' 60fps target frame rate to a game developed to run across multiple specs (Last gen, Current Gen & PC) with more variable Target 30fps, 60fps, 120fps and whatever PC Frame Rates you want....

Apparently, 343's new management wants the entirety of HI to run on UE5, which is why the lead engine engineer quit last month. Halo Endless and the battle royale mode are already being worked on UE5, with the campaign/current multiplayer modes soon to follow. If that is true, all I can say is that after the winter update, expect no new content for a reaaallly long time.

I've gone back to play Halo Infinite campaign on GPU after about ten months off it. I stopped playing in order to play the rest of the Yakuza games but never got around to finishing Halo

It was a bit overwhelming at first but I picked everything up pretty quickly. I'm about to go into the Point of No Return so I think I might look up a map so I can mop up those last hidden collectibles. I've done everything that shows up once you capture the FOBs though

I seem to have remembered my favourite tactic again ... Either use a wasp to blast everything from afar or loading up a Razorback with 5 other soldiers hoping a couple have rocket launchers and just run over enemies while my team picks off the stragglers!

@ralphdibny I am interested in Halo Infinite, but I am yet to try it. Is it good?

I am a newcomer to the series, tbh. I finished the first Halo via the MCC

I think I've changed my mind on going for the collectibles. The audio logs don't show up on the map in game and it's hard to tell what was part of a mission and what is just out in the field. It isn't very fun doing it from an online map.

On the plus side I did find a cool Easter egg as I was looking for an audio log which was like a Halo Infinite arcade machine!

@HarmanSmith I think it's quite good. It's actually quite fun because there is a zip line/grapnel gun mechanic which is used for exploration. It has an open world map which is different from the previous Halo games. The game looks good too in my opinion, especially as I'm flying around in the Wasp

Were you Gona jump straight from Halo to Halo Infinite then? I think the story won't make much sense that way. That being said, all of the Halo games are pretty similar and it's a bit of a slog to get through them in quick succession imo. I don't really rate the Halo games quite highly but I do kind of like the story and setting but the gameplay is a bit boring. Infinite changes things up enough for me to stay interested.

I finally finished Infinite and have now deleted it.

It's weird, the last 2 days with the game made me forget why I don't think much of Halo before making me remember again.

The open world stuff is a blast, but when I got locked into the linear final few hours, I was just bored to tears. It has its moments sure. A few epic moments, driving through crowds of people was cool and Weapon is blimmin loveable as hell (I wish she chose a different name for herself at the end of the game though because Cortana has had her time in the limelight already).

But I just find the shooting stuff so boring when it's layed on that thick. It just becomes repetitive when you have to basically kill waves of enemies in locations that basically keep repeating. Just reminds me of the archives (I think that's what it was called) in Halo 1

Really glad it's over now though and I've played all the FPS halo games. Not sure if I will make it onto Wars or Spartan Assault, not any time soon anyway.

Can someone explain to me how there's a campaign in the multi-player winter update and a separate download available for the campaign on the Microsoft store? Are they the same?

@HarmanSmith It is good. I would play Halo 2 and 3 before this one. 4 and 5 are okish imo. I'm a huge fan so played and enjoyed. Halo 2 and 3 are phenomial.

Infinte does a lot right. They dropped the ball with co-op and online but the campinge is good fun.
