Is anyone a tomb raider fan, have you played, "Shadow of the Tomb Raider". Is it as good as the very first tomb raider released years ago.
Tomb Raider (2013) is a more traditional game and it does some cool things with the bow and upgrading weapons. It's entertaining to complete 100% and not huge.
Rise of the Tomb Raider is, in my opinion, the best modern Tomb Raider game. It's extremely polished, with smooth and camera controls (unlike some Uncharted games), balanced gameplay, beautiful graphics and amazing DLC (included in the Xbox version). It's a big game, but not overwhelming and full of cool environments and tombs. It's a masterpiece.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider, developed by another team, introduces some gameplay mechanics related to stealth and it's also beautiful, but the gameplay is rougher and progressing is more confusing.
They are cheap and often discounted, so it's difficult not to recommend all of them.
@Ninfan I'd say the whole trilogy is very good and well worth buying - especially as they are 'cheap' now (compared to launch when I bought). Its a Trilogy I've played on both Xbox and Playstation as I enjoyed completing everything. I think the 3rd (Shadow) is probably the best looking, but maybe not quite as engaging as the 2nd. The first is superb but I also think it holds more weight just because I was not expecting that from a Tomb Raider game and being 'fresh' at the time, had a bigger impact. By the time Shadow released, expectation was higher and it wasn't quite as 'fresh' feeling - but I ultimately completed 'everything' inc all DLC twice.
I wouldn't say the third is terrible, even if it didn't quite live up to the expectation set by its Predecessors, I would likely say they are all within a 'similar' ball park if I was to give a review score. They'd all be in that 8-9/10 range.
Of course everyone is different and will have their own opinion about this game, but I'd certainly recommend it - especially if you enjoyed the first/second as it does continue the story...
A pessimist is just an optimist with experience!
Why can't life be like gaming? Why can't I restart from an earlier checkpoint??
Feel free to add me but please send a message so I know where you know me from...
So far I am not impressed with this new Xbox Ceo or whatever her title is. I get it MS wanted a corporate stooge, just someone who's clueless and just agrees with the shareholders and their interests. But shes trying to hard to please fans and getting caught. Lieing about her Gamerscore and then back peddling, saying that A.I. content wont be thier focus yet thats where she came from. Not a good look for you MS not a good look at all.

Hello.
My first time posting, so I'm just testing....
Just bought a refurbished XSS and a used One S and looking to get back into gaming after more than 20 years of "abstinence". My plan is to get back up to speed with gaming and have a hobby when (if?) retirement comes.
We need an external disc drive unit to future-proof our library! Next gen will be digital only, so once the old readers go out, our personal collections would be dead, and unique software lost. This mustn't happen!
SSD and HDDs too expensive, Blu-ray still has it's place.
It's crazy how much I've been playing on my Series X the past week compared to the past year. I've barely touched my Xbox since the price increase of GPU and now I've finished three games through GPU the past week. Still want to play through many games up until Forza Horizon 6 comes out, which will eat up all my time. I'm super excited for that game, my favourite racing series taking place in my favourite country, it's going to be awesome!
Aye, I just sold my Xbox Series X for a Xbox Series X Digital.
My HDMI input was a bit too lose for my taste and I'm not about to open up the thing and screw it up more.
So bought a White Digital Edition (Which is very hard to come by in Europe).
Thought I would miss the option to buy physical games, but I stand by my decision since Xbox only release a fraction of the games on physical media and the feature "Xbox Play anywhere" doesn't work on physical media.
Third week with it, just finished Mouse P.I. Looking forward to 007: First Light and Lego Batman.
I wonder if the next Xbox controller will be shown in the Xbox Games Showcase 2026, as Jez Corden was wrong (once again) when he said that it would be shown at the show last year. Perhaps, they will wait for Helix to release an updated Sebile controller, the one with modern specifications, but who knows if the Elite Series 3 will come earlier.
EDIT:
No Elite controller for now, but Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition Console and controller were announced and they look very nice!
